Lowell - Roger A. Grady, 80 of Lowell, passed away peacefully at home Thursday morning, March 24, 2011 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Doris (Belanger) Grady with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. He was born in Lowell, MA on May 14, 1930, the son of the late Hedwidge (Tremblay) and Albert Grady. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a G.M.3 during the Korean War (1948-1953) earning numerous medals including the Korean Service Medal with four battle stars, United Nations Service Medal, China Service Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon. He was retired from UMASS Lowell as a Lab Tech in the Mechanical Engineering Department. His greatest achievement and source of pride however was his family whom he loved dearly. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Kenneth Grady and his wife Karie of Dracut, his three daughters Linda Mitchell and her husband Robert of Dracut, Joyce Harrington and her husband Jack of Tyngsboro, and Lucy Cornellier and her husband Kevin of Merrimac. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tina Grady; Erin Chiesa, her husband Jay and their daughter Rae; Scott, Tanya, and Craig Mitchell; Ashley, Adam, and Kymberly Harrington; Tara and Derek Francisco; and a brother Donald Grady
and his wife Caroline of Chelmsford. He also leaves his dear friend Wallace Kasper of Buffalo, NY. Mr.
Grady was predeceased by his son James Grady, USN in 1987.
