Lowell- Roger J Godfroy, 78, a resident of Lowell, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, May 20.
He was born in Lowell on November 28, 1926, a son of the late Wilfred and Doria (Roy) Godfroy.
Mr Godfroy served in the US Navy during WWII stationed on the USS Alaska.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by the City of Lowell in the Water Dept. He was a member of the Lowell VFW Walker Rogers Post 662 and was an avid fisherman.
Surviving him are four daughters and two sons-in-law, Dolores Callahan and Suzanne and George Minnick, all of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Michelle and Walter Callahan of Lowell, Nathalie Godfroy of Quebec, Canada; a sister, Doris Jacques of Lowell; 10 grandchildren, Bridget Callahan, Caitlin Callahan-Robertson, Jaime Minnick, Jeff Minnick, Beth Godfroy, Andrew Godfroy, Shannon Callahan, Patrick Callahan, Bryan Callahan and Sean Callahan; many nieces and nephews and a longtime companion, Virginia Pieslak. He was the father of the late Paul R and David R Godfroy ; father-in-law of the late Mike Callahan; brother of the late Roland, Valdore "Ted", Rosaire and Raoul Godfroy, Rita Auger, Rolande Hobbs, Rejeanne Fleury
