Roger G. Fisette

LOWELL - Roger G. Fisette, age 82, a longtime resident of Lowell died Friday, November 17, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness.  He was the beloved husband of Dolores M. “Dolly” (Laferriere) Fisette, with whom he would have celebrated 65 years of marriage with in May.  

He was born on April 23, 1941, and was a son of the late Emil and Bernadette (Proteau) Fisette.  

Prior to his retirement, Roger was employed for 50 years as a manager at Anton’s Cleaners in the Greater Lowell area.  

In recent years, he was employed as a security officer by Allied Security at The Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem, NH.  

He was a longtime parishioner of Ste. Marguerite D’Youville Church in Dracut.  

Roger was an avid flower and vegetable gardener and enjoyed decorating for Christmas, which was his favorite holiday and sitting on his back deck watching wildlife, especially birds.  He also enjoyed spending time with his late Shetland Collies, Colby and Smokey.  

A fond memory for his family was sitting on his back deck with him, listening to oldies music and hearing him reminisce about his younger years with Dolly.  

In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by his two daughters, Debra Ozella and her husband Bruce of Lowell and Denise Desimone and her husband Robert of FL; eight grandchildren, Nicole Florez and her husband Alejandro, , Roger Turcotte and his wife Ashley, Abigail Kristiansen and her husband Erik, Cassandra Rush and her fiancé Anthony Furey, Ashley Sargent, Robert Kukulski, Alec Desimone and Nicholas Desimone, eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  

He was also the brother of the late Claire Provencher, Doris Rondeau and Roland Fisette.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Roger’s Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Tuesday, Nov. 28th from 9:00 until 10:15am followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00am at Ste. Marguerite D’Youville Church in Dracut.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roger’s memory to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
