Roger P. Elie

Dracut - Roger Patrick Elie, 83, a Dracut resident for more than 80 years, died Thursday at a local nursing home.
He was the husband of Therese (Fauvel) (Theriault) Elie for 22 years.
He was born in Lowell on March 17, 1922, a son of the late Frederick and Odile (Bisson) Elie.
He was educated in Lowell and Dracut schools and graduated from Dracut High School.
Mr. Elie served in WWII as a member of the Army Corps of Engineers on the Burma Road Project. He was employed at the Navy Yard Mill for many years and then as a Postman for the Town of Dracut for more than 25 years. He was a communicant of Ste. Therese Church of Ste. Margurite D'Youville Parish for all of his life. He enjoyed coin and stamp collecting and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Besides his wife he is survived by his stepsons and their wives, George and Therese Theriault of Manchester, NH, Richard and Georgette Theriault of Merrimack, NH, Paul and Marietta Theriault of Pelham, NH; five grandchildren, David, Dennis, Denise, Diane, Lisa; nine great grandchildren; his sisters and brothers and their spouses, Irene Boynton of Nashua, Rudolph and Helen Elie of Orlando, FL, Gertrude Masse of Dracut, Therese and Donat Rousseau of Methuen, Elizabeth and Richard Adams of Nashua, NH, Philip and Carol Elie of Dracut, Marie and Robert Lussier of Dracut; sisters in law and brothers in law, Annette Elie, Raymond Fauvel both of Dracut; an aunt Simone Bisson of Lowell; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also the brother of the late Madeline Petros, Robert and Normand Elie, and brother in law of the late Henry Masse, Jr., Thomas Petros, Roland Ayotte, and Larry Boynton.
