Roger F. Dubey

LOWELL - Roger F. Dubey, 62, a resident of Lowell, and previously a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2007 following a long courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Lowell on October 24, 1944, he was the son of the late Frank H. and Irene Amanda (Martineau) Dubey.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline A. (Courcy) Dubey and his beloved cat, Minou.
He attended Dracut Public Schools and served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War on a mapping mission in Ethiopia. Following his service with the Army, he worked as a carpenter in partnership with his father and for other employers until he became disabled from a heart condition in 1989. He was a member of the Dracut American Legion, Post 315.
He and his wife enjoyed camping for many years, particularly in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Roger was a fan of old Country Music and he also enjoyed painting with oils as well as watercolors.
In addition to his loving and devoted wife who has been his caregiver, he is survived by the special relatives who helped in caring for him, his niece and her husband, Sharon P. and Peter T. Wasik, Jr. of Dracut, his nephew, Kenneth J. Martineau of Dracut and New York, his grandniece and grandnephew, Stacy L. Wasik and Thomas P. Wasik of Dracut. A sister-in-law and her husband, Therese and Paul Martineau of Dracut. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, several cousins and many dear friends. He was pre-deceased by his sisters Barbara Dubey and Pauline (Dubey) Gagnon and her husband Richard H. Gagnon.
