Obituary- Roger A. Drane

Lowell- Roger Alphonso Drane, 88, husband of the late Margaret (Sullivan) Drane, died Friday July 14, 2006in Lowell.
Born in Union Point, Georgia on March 11, 1918, he was the son of the late Alphonso and Agetha (Guill) Drane. Mr. Drane served with the United States Coast Guard from 1936 until 1939 serving aboard the US Coast Guard Cutter Saranac. He then enlisted in the United States Army Air Force serving from 1943 until 1945 as a B-25 pilot.
He had been employed by Raytheon and also by the City of Lowell school department. A resident of Christian Hill in the Centralville section of Lowell, Mr. Drane was a communicant of St. Michael Church. He was an avid golfer and gardener.
He is survived by three sons and their wives; Roger Brian and Judith Ann (Christianson) Drane of Tewksbury, Mark P. and Linda (Berrigan) Drane of Dunstable and CM Sgt Gary C. and Kayoko (Maru) Drane, retired USAF of Alexandria, VA; three daughters and their husbands, Margo E. and Michael Corcoran of Lowell, Leslie Drane Foye and her husband John of Lowell and Donna A. and Lester Yetton of Andover; ten grandchildren, Deanna and her husband Mark Walsh of Tewksbury, Kelley and her husband Michael Fleming of Andover, Jennifer and her husband James Marcella of Tewksbury, Capt. David C. Drane, USAF of Alexandria, VA, Joseph and his wife Maryann Corcoran of Chelmsford, Matthew J. Corcoran of Washington D.C., Brian Foye of Lowell, Kaitlyn Yetton of Burlington, VT, Ryan Yetton and Emily Catherine Yetton of Andover; nine great grandchildren, Kelsey and Colin Walsh , William and Benjimin Marcella all of Tewksbury, Jordan and Brooke Fleming of Andover, Austin, Violet and Joseph Corcoran all of Lowell; a brother, Watson Drane of Mt. Pleasant, TN; two sisters, Betty Johnson and Maryanne Gilliam of Mt. Pleasant, TN; many nieces and nephews.
He was the grandfather of the late Sarah Yetton and brother of the late Noel Drane.
