Roger R. Bigold, 56, a Dracut resident, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Donna L. (Smith) Bigold with whom he celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary on October 20, 2011.
Born in Lowell on August 24, 1955, he was the son of the late Roger J. and Rita M. (Peters) Bigold.
Roger was raised in North Billerica and moved to Dracut in 1979.
He was a manager for Ahold USA Facilities Maintenance for whom he's worked for 39 years. He started working with Purity Supreme Supermarkets in 1972 and transitioned to Stop & Shop Supermarkets in 1996.
Roger enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially in Moultonborough, NH.
While his children attended Dracut High School, Roger enjoyed helping with the Dracut High School Band activities.
His other interests included boating, skiing and taking care of his yard, truck and car. He was a member of the Hochflieger Ski Club and also played softball for many years in area leagues.
In addition to his wife he leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Lynne (Harrington) Bigold of Dracut; a daughter, Renee Bigold of Dracut; a granddaughter, Claire Bigold of Dracut; two sisters and their husbands, Priscilla Fawcett and her husband Robert of Londonderry, NH and Maureen Dearstine and her husband David of Elkton, MD; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Mae (Cobuccio) Smith of Chelmsford; four sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolann Smith and George Davis of Dracut, Michael and Valerie Wheeler of Dracut, Robert and Irene Smith of Lowell and John and Robin Gorgone of Dracut; several nieces and nephews; Michael Fawcett and his wife Lesley of Malden, Ryan Fawcett of Londonderry, NH, Michael Wheeler, Daniel Wheeler, Meaghan McCartin and Matthew McCartin, all of Dracut, Robert and McKayla Smith of Lowell.
