Robert J. Proulx, Sr.

Robert J. “Bob” Proulx, Sr., 94, a lifelong resident of Dracut, fell asleep in death on June 23, 2026. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara M. (Gregoire) Proulx, who died in 2009. They had been married 55 years.

Bob was born in Dracut on November 12, 1931 and is the last child of the late Joseph and Anna (Charette) Proulx of Dracut. He attended Dracut Schools and then worked in construction, eventually became a skilled carpenter and building his own home.

He enjoyed gardening, baseball, rides to the beach and spending time with family. He was a generous and hard working man that would help anyone in need. Bob was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness.

Bob is survived by his daughter Joan Crooker and her husband, Roger of Temple, NH; his two sons, Kenneth Proulx and his wife, Robin of Townsend and Michael Proulx of Tyngsboro; his nine grandchildren, Robbie, Dustin, Carrie, Nathan, Ryan, Stephen, Kenny, Tyler and Stephanie; his great-grandchildren; his daughter-in-law, Denise Proulx of Bakersfield, VT; his sister-in-law, Joan Gregoire of New Ipswich, MA; his brothers-in-law, Eugene Gregoire of Nashua, NH and Robert Gregoire of Illinois; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his older son, Robert Proulx, Jr. and his siblings, Albina Proulx, Jeannette Theriault, Yvonne Proulx, Laura Marchand, Rita Gregoire, Blanche Jussaume, Louise Proulx, Rosario (Pete) Proulx, Leo Proulx, Roland Proulx, Arthur Proulx, Gerard Proulx, Armand Proulx and Raymond Proulx.

It being Bob’s wishes, all services and burial were held privately.
