Robert "Bob" James Odlum, Esq.,75, passed away Monday morning, July 24, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones. Bob was born in Leila Hospital in Battlecreek, Michigan on September 3, 1941. He moved to Stoneham, MA in 1948 with his family.
Beloved son of the late Joseph W. and Margaret (Cooney) Odlum, he leaves behind a devoted daughter Christina Proulx and her companion Matthew of Methuen, loving granddaughter Anna, Mother of his child and friend Robin Proulx, and dear brothers Joseph Odlum and his wife Mary of Wilmington and Dr. Frank Odlum and his wife Marjory of Andover. He also leaves several nephews and nieces and beloved friend Beatrice Hunt.
Bob was a great father figure to many and leaves his "adopted" children Michaela Melendez, Nathan Proulx, Shane Strykowski and Kelly McCormack.
Bob attended Boston College and received his Bachelors of Science in Business administration in 1963. He went on to obtain a Law degree at Portia Law School in 1967 and passed the Bar in the same year.
Bob began his law career at the Law Offices of Thomas Troy, working with his private investigation company. In 1969 he opened his own practice in the town of Billerica. He relocated his practice to the town of Tewksbury in 1991 until his retirement in 2014. Throughout his career, Bob formed deep bonds with his friends and clients , enjoyed doing Pro Bono work whenever possible and lived life to the fullest.
Bob was an active member in the Knights of Columbus of Stoneham. A devoted Catholic and member of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Bob enjoyed attending daily mass and spending time in front of the Blessed Sacrament in adoration and giving to various charities. He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Gus, taking him for walks by the river and anywhere else he went. Whenever possible, he enjoyed most spending time with his family and friends always making them laugh with his dry sense of humor and various pranks.
