LOWELL - Robert J. McArthur, 83, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, died Friday, October 21, 2005 at Saints Memorial Medical Center. He was the husband of Ann. M. (Quinn) McArthur.
Born in Lowell on December 29, 1921, he was a son of the late Henry and Catherine (McKenna) McArthur.
Mr. McArthur was educated in Lowell Schools and enlisted with the United States Navy where he served in the South Pacific during World War II.
He retired in 1984 from the General Electric Company of Lynn, MA.
A communicant of St. Michael Church, he was a member of the Holy Name Society. He also volunteered for the Parish Bingo and Coached in the St. Michael's Little League.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert J. and Patrice (Condon) McArthur of Derry, NH and Joseph H. and Johnna (Maniatakos) McArthur of Pelham, NH; two grandchildren, Katherine I. McArthur and Joseph Q. McArthur, both of Pelham, NH; a sister-in-law, Sarah McArthur of Pelham, NH; also several nephews and a niece. He was the brother of the late John McArthur, Margaret Shyne, Eileen Peters, William McArthur and Andrew McArthur.
