Dracut - Robert N. Martineau, a Dracut resident, the beloved husband of Rose M. (Hall) Martineau, with whom he celebrated 56 years of marriage, died Thursday July 10, 2008 at the Lowell General Hospital. He was 79.
Robert was born in Dracut, a son of the late Phillip and Louise (Martineau) Martineau.
Prior to his retirement he was employed as a carpenter and built several homes in the area.
Robert was a communicant of St. Rita Church. He enjoyed making and selling crafts, reading, fishing and especially liked to cook. Most of all he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and took great pleasure in telling them stories of the past.
Surviving him besides his wife are two daughters and sons in law, Donna M. and Girard DeMange of Lowell, Joyce C. and Stephen Cerand of Mendon; a son Dennis R. Martineau of Dracut; two brothers, Alfred Martineau of NH, Paul Martineau of Dracut; five grandchildren, Sarah Enos, Rebecca DeMange, Lee Cerand, Seth Cerand, Jade Martineau; and several nieces and nephews.
