Robert M. Sheedy … Loving father, grandfather, great grandfather
LOWELL - Robert M. “Bob” Sheedy, 82, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 44 years, Carolyn B. (Coffey) Sheedy.
Born in Lowell on May 15, 1940, he was a son of the late Thomas and Rose (McCarthy) Sheedy.
Bob was a graduate of Lowell High School, Class of 1958.
He had been employed as a supervisor for the Raytheon Corporation, Andover office, retiring after 43 years of service.
A long time resident of the Highlands section of Lowell, he was a communicant of St. Margaret of Scotland Church.
He was a founding member of the Lowell Youth Soccer Program assisting from 1979 until 1987. One of his greatest enjoyments was watching his grandchildren compete in the various sports they played.
Bob embraced his Irish Heritage, when he was with you, his Irish eyes were smiling.
He and his wife Carolyn and their family enjoyed vacationing at Old Orchard Beach in Maine.
Bob leaves four children and their spouses, Kelly and Warren Rush of Brookline, NH, Bonnie and David Mullen of Townsend, Maureen and Joe Sturzo of Lowell and Robert and Kristy Sheedy, Jr. of Dracut; nine grandchildren, Lindsay Roper, Stephen Roper, Alyssa Glennon and her husband Sean, Tyler Quealy, Sean Mullen, Samantha Sturzo, Haley Sheedy, Joey Sturzo and Logan Sheedy; 5 great grandchildren; a brother, Richard Sheedy of Greensburg, PA; a sister, Kathleen Rondeau of Lowell; also several nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late Thomas Sheedy and Patricia Martel.
Relatives and friends are invited to Bob’s Life Celebration of Tuesday, Dec. 6, from 9:00 until 11:00 AM at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street. His Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 PM in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 374 Stevens Street. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
