Robert D. "Bob" Fontes

Robert D. "Bob" Fontes, 76, a lifelong Chelmsford resident died Thursday October 23, 2014 at Mass General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Cheryl A. (Newcomb) Fontes.
Born in Chelmsford on January 22, 1938, he was a son of the late Antonio and Rita (Barboza) Fontes.
Bob was well known in the Chelmsford community for owning and operating Fontes Farm on Dalton Road. He carried on the legacy of his father by working hard to uphold the family farming tradition. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed following horse racing, and caring for his small dogs.
Bob is survived by his children Tony Fontes of Dover, NH, Timothy Fontes and his wife, Jennifer of Merrimack, NH and Tracy Bobola and her husband, Derek of Nashua, NH; his grandchildren, Deanne Fontes, Devon Fontes, Anthony Fontes, Isabel Fontes, Kelsey Ferreira, Dylan Bobola, Jason Bobola and Adam Bobola; a great granddaughter, Aiva Fontes; a great grandson, Thomas McCullough; two brothers, Raymond Fontes and his wife Doris of Indiana, Richard Fontes and his wife Hanna of North Carolina; a sister, Mary Dobson, wife of the late Bob Dobson of Lowell, MA; many brothers and sisters -in-law, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Rita Locapo.
