Dracut - Robert E. Fauvel, the beloved husband of Susan (Imbriglio) Fauvel, with whom he would have celebrated 24 years of marriage on December 1, died Friday November 12, 2010 at the Lowell General Hospital. He was 63.
Bob was born in Lowell on October 4, 1947, a son of the late Edward C. and Elizabeth (Lafontaine) Fauvel.
He served in the Air Force, Air Security Police during the Vietnam War, leaving with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Bob was employed by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue as a computer operator.
He was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish where he was a member of the Parish Club.
Bob was currently serving his second term as Commander of the Leo C. Roth American Legion Post 315 in Dracut. He had also served as the finance officer for ten years, where he was recognized by state Representative Colleen Garry for his dedication and exemplary service.
Bob was a member of the Franco American War Veterans, Post 4 in Lowell. He also served on the Franco Day Committee and the Lowell Veterans Council.
Bob enjoyed traveling with his wife. He was accomplished at bowling and darts. Bob devoutly followed the local Boston and Dracut High school sports teams.
Most of all Bob cherished time spent at home with his wife Susan and their dog Sammie.
Surviving him besides his wife is a son Brian R. Fauvel and his companion Letitia Wallace of Framingham; his mother in law and father in law, Claire and Anthony Imbriglio of Fall River; sisters in law and brothers in law, Roma Fauvel of Dracut, Paula and George Potvin of Windham, NH, Joann Imbriglio and her companion Ernie Bunker of Fall River; nieces and nephew, Elicia Fauvel, Jeremy Fauvel, Ashley Potvin; and a dear friend and comrade Ed Hammersly. He was also the brother of the late Normand Fauvel.
