LOWELL - Robert E. Dupuis, Sr., 96, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at his son’s residence in Wilbraham, MA. He was the beloved husband of the late Frances E. (Coan) Dupuis, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage prior to her passing.
Born in Lowell on November 24, 1927, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Fitzgerald) Dupuis.
Following his graduation from Lowell High School in 1945, Bob was drafted into the United States Army and served until his Honorable Discharge on April 20, 1947.
Prior to his retirement, Bob was employed at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA.
Following retirement, he became an everyday attendee at the Lowell YMCA for a span of 35 years.
Along with his wife Frances, Bob enjoyed attending Mass at St. Michael Church. They also spent many years traveling together, visiting 48 States and several countries around the world.
He leaves three children, Robert E. Dupuis, Jr. of Brentwood, TN, Anne Marie Stewart and her husband Timothy of San Ramon, CA and William F. Dupuis and his wife Caroline of Wilbraham; six grandchildren, Mikaleagh Stewart, Kaitlin Turley, Robby Dupuis, Michael Dupuis, Nicholas Dupuis and Julia Dupuis; also several nieces and nephews.
It being his wish, there will be no visitation. Relative’s and friends are invited to attend Bob’s Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Friday morning, Nov. 8, at 11:00 AM in St. Michael Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
