Dracut - Robert F. Despres, 65, husband of Lorraine M. (Therrien) Despres, a Dracut resident, died Monday January 8, at a local nursing home following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Lowell on July 9, 1941, a son of the late Edward Despres and the late Annette (Laflamme) Lussier, and stepson of Raymond Lussier of Lowell who survives him.
Mr. Despres was employed for many years as a salesman for R J Reynolds Tobacco Co.
He was a communicant of Ste Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut.
An avid car and motorcycle enthusiast, he collected and rebuilt all types of cars. In earlier years he enjoyed scuba diving and volunteered as a rescue diver for several communities. He was also a master craftsman, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivng him besides his wife and stepfather are two daughters and a son in law, Donna and Roland Cote of Lowell, Cheryl Despres of Dracut; two sons and a daughter in law Robert and Sharon Despres of Pelham, NH, Richard Despres of Hudson, NH; a sister Maureen Stott; eight grandchildren, April Johnston, , Misty Greenwood, Tracy Cote, Michael Cote, Alysha Boisvert, Cameron Despres, Danielle Despres, Cody Despres; four great grandchildren, Drew Carbonneau, Destiny Johnston, Victoria Gamby, and Mark Greenwood, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
