Robert N. Bryn, 62, a Centralville resident, died peacefully Sunday September 13, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family following a courageous eleven month battle with cancer. He was the husband of Mary Lou (McKeon) Bryn with whom he was married for nineteen years.
Born in Reno, Nevada on July 15, 1947, He was a son of Stanly Bryn and his wife Jackie of Socorro, NM and the late Alice (Birch) Bryn.
As a young man, Bob attended Wilmington schools where he excelled in baseball as a pitcher. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marines serving in the Vietnam War.
Bob was employed as a customer service representative for more than 20 years with the IRS. He had also been employed as a police officer while living in Raleigh, NC. He enjoyed many cruises to various destinations as well as several trips to Las Vegas, NV, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos. In his younger days, he had a vast baseball card collection and was also a collector of hats and bobble heads. He was a true Red Sox and Patriots fan. Bob had a remarkable sense of humor and was loved by many.
Besides his wife and father, survivors include, two sons, Robb Bryn and his wife, Stacy of Wilmington, NC, their children, Hunter and Griffin; Adam Bryn and his wife, Temple of Raleigh, NC and their children, Maxwell and Jackson; a sister, Darleen Swan and her husband, Bob of Sparks, NV; a brother, Steven Bryn and his wife, Elaine of York, ME; a brother-in-law, James McKeon of Lowell; his two favorite sisters-in-law, Barbara McKeon of Lowell and Gail McKeon of Lowell; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his step mother, Anita Bryn.
