DRACUT - Robert R. Bjorkman, 84, a longtime resident of Dracut died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Jeannette (Renaud) Bjorkman, to whom he was married for 61 years.
He was born in Lowell on June 18, 1932, and was a son of the late Ernest and Flora (Denomme) Bjorkman.
Robert served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Following his discharge, he continued his service to his country as a Captain on the Hanscom Air Force Base Fire Department in Bedford and retired after 30 years of service.
Robert was a longtime communicant of Ste. Marguerite Parish in Dracut.
His greatest joy came from spending time in the company of his loving family.
In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by two daughters, Sandra Bedard and her husband Jean of Dracut and with whom she resided and Roxanne Skea and her husband Scott of Methuen; his two sons, Leonard Bjorkman and his wife Denise of Methuen and Eric Bjorkman of Dracut; eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Robert Gentle; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Sharon Chenelle and the brother of the late Donald Bjorkman. He was also predeceased by three grandchildren.
