Robert Louis Bergeron

Robert Louis Bergeron, 82, of Pelham, NH, died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Nashua, NH, on June 19, 1925, son of the late Romuald Bergeron and Pearl (Gaudette) Bergeron. He received a French/English education at St. Joseph School in Lowell, MA, and finished his education in the Pelham public schools. He was a lifelong resident of Pelham, except for his younger adult years when he operated dairy farms in Londonderry, Deering, and Stratham, NH. After returning to his hometown of Pelham, he worked as a truck driver for Hirsch Brothers Construction and Gendron Scrap Metal in Pelham, from which he retired.

During his many years of retirement he avidly pursued his hobbies and interests, including fishing, model railroading, military history, railroad lanterns, covered bridges, and early American hand tools.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jeannette (Ducharme), and his six daughters, Helen Betz and her partner Donna Bouvier of Kittery, ME, Martha Bisson and her husband Richard of Raymond, NH, Catherine Fields and her husband William of Bedford, NH, Theresa Guerrette and her husband Michael of Nashua, NH, Mary Lou Thompson and her husband William of Athens, ME, and Janet Gelinas and her husband Wayne of Sanford, ME. He was predeceased by his son, Peter N. Bergeron, and an infant daughter, Lisa.

He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each one of whom brought him great joy.
