DRACUT - Rita J. (Aubin) Sawyer, 94, a longtime resident of Dracut died Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Palm Center in Chelmsford.
She was the beloved wife of the late Victor G. Sawyer.
She was born in Lowell on January 3, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Emma (Roy) Aubin. She received her education in Lowell schools and was a graduate of Lowell High School.
Prior to her retirement, Rita was employed as a clerk for the former Stuart's Department Store in Lowell.
She was an avid bingo player, who enjoyed knitting and trips to Foxwoods Casino and the beach. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, swimming, and watching the Price is Right. Her greatest joy came from spending time in the company of her loving family.
She was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish in Dracut.
Rita is survived by two sons, Dennis V. Sawyer and his wife Jacqueline of Deering, NH and Thomas P. Sawyer and his wife Carol Ann of Dracut; three daughters, Jeannine J. Lussier and her husband Donald of N. Chelmsford, Sandra G. Sawyer and her husband James of Tyngsboro, and Patricia A. Proulx and her husband Alan of Townsend; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late, Jacqueline J. Sawyer and the sister of the late Raymond Aubin and his wife Lucille and the late Robert Aubin.
