DOWNINGTOWN, PA - Rita Claire (Lamarche) Grenier,age 94, formerly of Lowell, MA, most recently of Downingtown, PA, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Chester Valley Rehab and Nursing Center, Malvern, PA.
She was the widow of the late Oliver Arthur Grenier, Sr. with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. She was born in Lowell, MA on September 30, 1918, the daughter of the late Napoleon and Marie Emma (Courtois) Lamarche.
Prior to Rita's retirement, she was employed at the Mohair Plush and the Honeywell Corporation. A member of the Centralville Senior Citizens Association and past Vice President, she was also a member of St. Louis Veterans. In 1996, the Veterans Group of St-Louis Parish bestowed and awarded to Rita and her late husband Oliver "Persons of the Year" for their 60 years of devotion and dedication to their former parish St-Louis-de-France. Rita loved to cook, crochet, sew, read and do crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her two daughters, Therese J. McMahon-Fagan, spouse of Robert P. Fagan of Downingtown, PA and Lea M. Gauthier-Beaupre of Dracut; daughter-in-law Cindy Grenier, spouse of the late Oliver A. Grenier, Jr. of Coos Bay, Oregon; two sisters Anita Marie Perreault of St. Petersburg, Florida and Laurette Cecile Pollard of Mineola, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Rita and Rachel Lamarche of NH and Dolores Grenier of Dracut, MA; 2 sons-in-law William Gauthier and Dave Beaupre of Lowell, MA; 15 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, 6 step great grand-children and 26 nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased in death by her husband Oliver Arthur Grenier, Sr. he died Feb 14, 1998, her son Oliver Arthur Grenier, Jr; he died Feb. 5, 2011, son-in-law Ernest G. McMahon; daughter-in-law Sandra (Corbin) Grenier, three sisters Claire Ezelka Lamarche, Laura Yvette Taylor; Pauline Noella Chung, five brothers, Leo Achille, Arthur Alide, George Edward, Joseph Roland and Joseph Gerard Laurier Lamarche.
