Rita P. (Grandchamp) Gervais, a Dracut resident and the beloved wife of the late Gerard J. Gervais, died on Thursday, September 3, 2015, with her family by her side. She was 90.
Born in Lowell on October 12, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Alma (Ducharme) Grandchamp.
Rita was a 1944 graduate of St. Louis Academy, and then attended the University of Lowell for two years. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a comptroller at the former Barber Manufacturing of Lowell.
Rita was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church and currently St. Francis Parish. She was a member of the St. Louis Academy Alumnae Association, and AARP.
Rita loved to travel, especially cruises. She and Gerry also cherished all of the time spent at their home in York, Maine. What mattered most to Rita was family. She adored all of the time she spent with all of her nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
Surviving Rita are her sister-in-law, Alice Gervais of Chelmsford; nieces and nephews, Michelle Ferreira of North Reading, Marc Grandchamp of Dracut, Natalie Bergeron of Dracut, Lisa Ozana of Raymond, NH, Judi St. Germain of Tyngsboro, Kenneth Gervais of Chelsea, Donna Plackowicz of Tewksbury, Daniel Russo of Zebulon, North Carolina; and many grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces and great grand nephews. She was the sister of the late Gerard E. Grandchamp and Pauline Grandchamp Arpin and sister-in-law of the late Marietta Grandchamp.
