Rita C. (Jacques)(Scott) Francoeur, 79, a longtime Dracut resident, died Friday December 28, 2012 at her residence, following a brief illness, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late William J. Scott and Robert "Gerry" Francoeur.
Born in Lawrence on March 20, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Alcide and Wilhemina (Fortier) Jacques.
Rita was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School where she was salutatorian of her graduating class.
Rita was a loving mother and a lifelong caregiver to her family, especially her husband, William, who suffered from Multiple Sclerosis. Her favorite pastime was playing cards with her friends, particularly Cribbage.
Rita was an active parishioner of St. Francis Church in Dracut where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a member of the St. Francis Widow's Club and also volunteered at church to assist with the coordination of bereavement meals. Rita was also a member of the Dracut Senior Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine A. Morgan and her husband, Harry of Hudson, NH, Donna M. Higgins and her husband, Tim of Chelmsford; three sons, William R. Scott of Dracut, David J. Scott and his wife, Kimberly of Dracut, Raymond M. Scott of Dracut; eleven grandchildren, Michelle Morgan, Julie Harris and her husband, Jason, William Scott, Lauren Scott, Katie Higgins, Riley Higgins, Cosette Scott, Sadie Scott, Abigail Scott, Caleb Scott and Chloe Scott; 1 great grandson, Nathan Harris; a sister-in-law, Beryl Jacques of Weymouth; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was the sister of the late Eugenie Laramee, Alice Berube, Leah Ouellette, Germaine Toussaint, Yvonne Couture, Aurora Berube, Doris Boucher, Paul Jacques and Joseph Jacques.
