Rita M. (Parks) Demers, 81, of Dracut, "Mem" as she was called by all who knew and loved her, died peacefully, Sunday May 22, 2011 at Saints Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence M. Demers.
Born in Lowell on October 1, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Leslie and Lillian (McCullough) Parks.
Family was everything to Rita. Her brothers and sisters-in-law were her best friends. Cooking and special time with her granddaughters was truly cherished. She will always be remembered for her meat pies.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth R. Demers and his wife, Julie of Tyngsboro, Kevin E. Demers and his wife, Susan of Derry, NH; six granddaughters, Tricia Demers , Tammi Forcier, Erin Morrison, Whitney Demers , Haleigh Demers and Amanda Demers; a great granddaughter, Madison Forcier; a daughter-in- law, Joyce Demers of Dracut; a brother, Robert Parks and his wife, Dorothy of FL; several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Leslie R. Demers and Lawrence C. Demers and sister to the late Leslie Parks.
