LOWELL- Rita M. (Dube) Cote, 88, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Thursday December 30, 2010 at Saints Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Real T. Cote who died in 1980.
Born in Lowell on August 8, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Rosanna (Hamel) Dube.
For many years, Rita worked at the Lawrence Manufacturing Company. Previous to that she worked in the Boott Mills of Lowell.
Rita volunteered much of her time at the former St. Louis de France Parish where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and served as a Den Mother and president of Boy Scout Troop 25. She also helped out with the St. Louis Carnival.
Rita enjoyed knitting, bingo, having a good time, but especially spending time with her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Gloria B. Cote of Tyngsboro; two sons, Donald A. Cote and his wife, Joan of Norton, Raymond A. Cote and his wife, Nancy of Lowell; four grandchildren, Sean Cote and Jason Cote both of Norton, Mary Ann and Ashley Cote both of Lowell; three great grandchildren, Angelina Rosa, Jocelyn Cote and Macayla Cote all of Lowell; several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was the sister of the late Albert Dube, Wilfred Dube and Blanche Dube.
