Rita M. (Descoteaux) Chartier

Pelham, NH – Rita M. (Descoteaux) Chartier, widow of Alfred E. Chartier, a resident of Pelham, NH, formerly of Lowell, died Wednesday July 13, at a local health care facility. She was 91.
Rita was born in Lowell on December 5, 1919, a daughter of the late Edouard and Alexina (Vaillancourt) Descoteaux.
Rita took pleasure in cooking and spending time with her family. She especially looked forward to her family dinners on Sunday. Rita also enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading her Bible.
Survivors include her ten children, Theresa Emond, Alfred E. Chartier, Jr., Edouard Chartier and his wife Terry, Edmond Chartier and his wife Martha, Marie Lagasse` and her husband Richard all of Lowell, Claire Prudhomme and her husband Ed of Kittery, ME, Paul Chartier, of Lowell, Leo Chartier and his wife Cheryl of Shirley, Gerard Chartier of Lowell, Georgette Montmarquet and her husband Richard of Pelham, NH; 24 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. She was also the mother of the late Gertrude Ducharme.
