Rita E. (Cloutier) Adolewski, beloved wife of the late Charles Adolewski , who died in 2005, died Monday, February 7, 2011 at the Saints Medical Center. She was 90.
Rita was born on April 4, 1920 in Lowell, MA and had been a longtime resident of Dracut prior to moving to Billerica three years ago.
Rita was a veteran of WWII, serving in the WAAC (Women’s Auxiliary Army Corps) as a clerk, and being discharged with the rank of Corporal. She was in the secretarial pool for General Eisenhower and spent some of her military time in various parts of Europe – England, France and Scotland.
While residing in Dracut, Rita was employed in the cafeteria at Dracut High School for ten years, retiring in 1977.
Rita and her husband Charlie (his CB “handle” was “Woodchuck”) enjoyed traveling in their RV all around the country, but their favorite campgrounds were in NH and MA. Rita’s hobbies included knitting, playing cards, Bingo, Pokeno, Michigan Rummy, and UNO.
Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Charles Jr. and Ana Maria Adolewski of Tempe, AZ; two daughters and sons in law, Lori Adolewski and Scott Gilbert of Kaneohe, HI; and Donna and Rodney Dellafelice of Milford, NH; and several nieces and a nephew.
