Richard W. Ouellette

Richard W. “Dick” Ouellette, age 86, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died peacefully in his home, surrounded by family, on Sunday, July 7, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Valerie A. (Webster) Ouellette, until her passing in 2020.

He was born in Lowell on April 24, 1938 and was the son of the late Anita B. (Cloutier) and William S. Ouellette. Prior to his retirement in 1999, Dick worked as an elementary school teacher for Chelmsford Public Schools for 40 years.

Dick was avid reader and sports fan, especially the New England teams. Him and Valerie loved their visits to Hampton Beach and time spent up in Maine at their summer place.

He was the Director of Religious Education at Holy Family for many years.

Dick is survived by his four children, Suzanne Gendreau of Nashua, NH, Richard Ouellette of Epping, NH, Deborah Ouellette of Lowell and Kristine Yano and her husband Harold of Orange, CA; his eleven grandchildren, William Hurley and his wife Malis of Nashua, NH, Robert Hurley of Nashua, NH, Matthew Newell of Lowell, Julie Lovoy and her husband Antonio of Mendon, Chelsea Cayer and her husband Brandon of Claremont, NH, Ben Ouellette of Hampton, NH and Hallie and Lorelle Ouellette both of Fremont, NH and Troy, Nolan and Kurt Yano all of Orange, CA; his four great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was the brother of the late Anita B. Marchand and Rev. Paul Ouellette, OMI.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dick’s Life Celebration on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 2 until 4 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. His Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel, Chelmsford.
