Richard V. Newman

June 24, 1948 — January 20, 2013

Richard Vincent Newman Jr., 64, of Lowell passed away Sunday, January 20, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston after a short illness. He was the eldest son of the late Richard V. Newman, Sr. and Patricia Wheelock Newman of Beverly. A graduate of Boston College, Richard worked in Benefits Management for many years and later received his Masters degree in Special Education from Salem State College. Mr. Newman served his Country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He taught Special Education and was class advisor to many students at North Shore Technical High School in Middleton starting in 1995. Richard is lovingly remembered by his wife Patricia A. (Moretti), formerly of Lexington and Belmont; their son Sean P. Newman of Lowell; his two children from a prior marriage, his daughter Kathryn W. Newman and son Richard "Chad" P. Newman, both of Peabody, as well as Chad's fiancé Jared Stanisci; step-daughters Meagan A. Fitzpatrick of Allston, and Andrea M. Fitzpatrick and her fiancé Scott Ashworth of Lowell; brothers Donald Newman and Paul Newman and his fiancée Michelle Fisher of Beverly. He was also the brother of the late Patricia Newman of Beverly, and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and an extensive circle of loving family and friends.
