Richard D. Lemire, 66, husband of Lorraine Theresa (Maille) Lemire, a resident of the Pawtucketville section of the city, died Thursday, July 8, at the Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Lowell on July 23, 1937, he was a son of the late Leo and Irene (Sullivan) Lemire. He attended Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School.
Richard was a member of the Community Christian Fellowship Church in Lowell.
Prior to his retirement, he had been employed in the Municipal Parking Dept of the City of Lowell.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in the US Marines and was honorably discharged.
Surviving him beside his wife are a son and daughter-in-law, Richard M and Kristin Lemire of Lake Worth, FL and a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tony Goosen of
Hooker, OK; two brothers, Harry and his wife Linda Lemire of Wells Beach, ME and Donald and his wife Arlene Lemire of Boynton Beach, FL; six sisters, Rita Emery, Theresa Woodcum, Joan Januszewski, Carol Laurino, Mary Savage and Linda Roche; also six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert Lemire, Kitty Chasse, Ruth Musgrave, Betty Nelson and Dorothy Loudfoot.
