Richard A. Ric Harvey

Richard A. Ric Harvey, 63, of Lowell formerly a resident of Orlando, Florida, died Saturday August 8, 2009 at the Lowell General Hospital. Surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Lowell on May 23, 1946, he was a son of the late Robert L. and the late Pauline P. (Vigeant) Harvey, Sr.

Ric served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1964-1967. He earned numerous service commendations including, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Ric had a long career in the food service industry while living in Florida but was most recently employed by Scola's Restaurant in Dracut.

He was known for his love of the outdoors and he thoroughly enjoyed camping and fishing.

He was a loving and caring brother and uncle and was an outstanding godfather.

Survivors include, three brothers, Robert L. Harvey, Jr. and his wife, Nancy of Pembroke Pines, FL, Dennis P. Harvey of Ocoee, FL, Paul R. Harvey and his wife, Susan, of Lowell, with whom he resided; three sisters, Elaine C. Cormier and her husband, Fern of Lowell, Carol-Ann Allen and her husband, Richard of Lowell, Doreen P. Nolan and her husband, Chuck of Lowell; his godchild, Erin-Leigh Cronk; many loving nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Lola and many friends in Lowell and Orlando, including long time friends Gail Petty and Rick Smeaton.
