Richard N. "Dick" Dube

October 15, 1937 — February 10, 2022

DUBE - Richard N. "Dick" Dube, age 84, a longtime resident of Dracut died surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at his home following a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Maureen J. (Anderson) Dube, to whom he was married for 28 years. He was also the husband of the late Patricia (Korelishn) Dube, who died in 1987.

He was born in Lowell on October 15, 1937, and was a son of the late Joseph and Joan (Voisard) Dube. He received his education in Dracut schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School where he was co-captain of the football team in 1957. In 1986 he was inducted into the Dracut High School Hall of Fame and recently received a certificate of congratulations from the Massachusetts House of Representatives for his achievements on the team.

Dick proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 45 years and 4 days as an equipment installer for New England Telephone (now Verizon). He was also a special police officer in the Town of Dracut for 19 years.

Dick was a longtime active member of St. Patrick Church in Pelham, NH where he served in many ways since 1980, including Eucharistic Minister, Acolyte, and sacristan. He was also a longtime member of the Lowell Elks Lodge.

He had a lifelong love for the Dracut Middies and was very active in their organizations, including past president of the Dracut High School Middies Club, past president of the Middies Hall of Fame, and past President of the Light Committee, which helped raise funds for the lighting on the high school football field.

In Dick's free time he enjoyed gardening, trips to Las Vegas and watching the New England Patriots, but above all his greatest joy came from his time spent in the company of his family, especially his adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Cheryl Morin and her husband John of Nashua, NH, Cyndee Tourville and her husband Norman of Pelham, NH, and Richard N. Dube, II and his wife Stephanie of Pittsburg, NH; three step-children, Harry Raymond of Lowell, Janice Watts of Ayer, and Michael Raymond and his wife Dalva of Lowell; eight grandchildren, Trisha Winroth and her husband Scott, Jaye Morin, Collin Dube, Madison Dube, Seth Raymond, Kyle Raymond, Kody Raymond, and Tyler Raymond; three great grandchildren, Nathan Winroth, Faith Raymond, and Kirra Raymond; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Joseph Dube, Jr., Raymond Dube, and Tristan Laurion.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dick's Life Celebration at the MCKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell on Tuesday from 3:00 until 7:00pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00am at St. Patrick Church in Pelham, NH. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dick's memory to the Dracut Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 117, Dracut, MA  01826.
