Richard A. Daigle

July 26, 1937 — January 14, 2020

DRACUT - Richard Daigle passed away after a long illness on January 14, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. A lifelong Dracut resident, Richard spend the last years of his life in the house he'd built with his wife Mary, who he adored. He enjoyed local and world history, politics, and was devoted to his gardening. He loved the white mountains, and family vacations to Florida, Lake Ossipee, Mexico, and to his camp in NH. He had a deep appreciation for music and took great pride in accompanying his wife to her piano performances, and in being active with his children and grandchildren's musical exhibitions.

Richard was educated at St. Jean D'arc School and in the Dracut school system. He served in the US Army, and had many jobs over the years including St. Patrick's Cemetery, where he spent 45 years before retiring. He had a special way with babies and the elderly, and spent endless hours devoting his time and kindness to others in need. He could be teasingly funny, and also sentimental in his later years. He liked to plan and organize and was incredibly resourceful. Richard was a strict Catholic, and lived an honest life. He had an admirable strength and principle, and was a hard-working, devoted family man who always put his wife and family before himself. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
