Richard J. "Dick" Courtemarche

Richard J. "Dick" "Red" Courtemarche, 82, a resident of Chelmsford and long-time resident of the Lowell area, died Monday, July 18, 2022 at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary H. (Riley) Courtemarche, whom passed away in 2018.

He was born in Lowell on August 16, 1939 and was a son of the late Annette (Bouchard) and John Courtemarche. He received his earlier education in Lowell and Dracut then went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army.

After being honorably discharged from the Army, Dick built a successful painting business, Courtemarche Painting.

He spent many years camping in Maine with his family and loved snowmobiling up that way during winter months. Dick enjoyed his Tuesday morning coffee groups with his childhood friends and also his time spent with his friends and neighbors at North Village.

Dick is survived and will be deeply missed by his two children, Thomas and his wife, Terri and Mary Beth and her husband Tony; his four grandchildren, Jacob, Andrew, Anthony and Lindsey; his brother, Gerald Courtemarche and his wife Catherine; his brother-in-law, Thomas Riley and his wife Joanne; his sister-in-law, Katherine Comtois; his Goddaughter, Karen May; his nephew, Kevin Riley; along with many nieces, nephews and close friends he considered family.

He was the father to the late Paula Courtemarche who passed away in 2008 and the brother to the late Annette Rondeau.

Relatives and friends are invited to Richard's Life Celebration on Monday, July 25, 2022 from 9 until 10 AM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately following at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 25 North Road, Chelmsford. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
