Missionary Oblate of Mary Immaculate

Father Donald J. Dummer, OMI, a member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate community passed away at the Oblate Residence in Tewksbury on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024. He was 86.

Father Dummer was the son of the late Francis and Agnes (Doffling) Dummer. He is predeceased by his siblings; Mary (Dummer) Lorentz, Eugene Dummer and Janice (Dummer) Burr. He is survived by his brother Gordon Dummer (Long Beach, CA).

His early priesthood was spent in Catholic education. Fr. Dummer spent many years in parochial ministry in the Midwest. His last ministerial assignment was as a hospital chaplain prior to retiring in Tewksbury, MA.
