Beloved Husband, Father & Grandfather
Rene P. Wagner, 78, a resident of Dracut, died surrounded by his loving family at Lowell General Hospital on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Catherine M. (Bean) Wagner with whom he was married for 58 years.
He was born in Lowell, MA on January 18, 1945 and was a son of the late Alvine N. (Marquis) and Louis R. Wagner. Rene worked as a drywall finisher for almost 40 years and was a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 35, Local 577 for the last 38 years.
Rene’s greatest joy was spending time with family. He was also a car enthusiast, who especially loved his Cadillac. He enjoyed dancing and listening to Elvis and the oldies and he was always the life of the party.
Rene and Cathy enjoyed many good times with friends at the East End Club.
In addition to his wife Catherine, Rene is survived and will be deeply missed by his two children, Lisa Lizotte and her husband Jeffrey of Dracut and Gerard T. Wagner and his wife Lisa Marie of Dracut; his two grandchildren, Lindsey and Jackson; his sister Jeanne Wagner of Dracut; as well as many family and friends. He is predeceased and met in Heaven by his and Catherine’s beloved daughter, Jennifer Lynn Wagner, who passed in 1977.
Relatives and friends are invited to Rene’s Life Celebration on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 2 until 4 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at St. Francis Church, Dracut. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
