Rene L. Beauregard, 79, a lifelong Dracut resident, died peacefully on Wednesday August 10, 2011 surrounded by his loving family at his Dracut residence. He was the loving husband of Therese P. (Tellier) Beauregard of Dracut, with whom he would have celebrated 51 years of marriage on August 20, 2011.
Born in Dracut on April 1, 1932, he was the son of the late Armand and Louise (Gendreau) Beauregard.
In November of 1951, Rene enlisted in the United States Navy serving during the Korean War. For many years Rene worked as a machinist and most recently worked as a custodian in the Dracut School System.
Rene loved to bowl and was a member of a bowling league for many years at Park Lanes in Windham. He was considered an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Rain or shine, Rene was always outdoors enjoying his yard and gardening. He was very dependable and was always the first to volunteer to help his family and friends in any way that he could.
Rene was a member of the Dracut Senior Citizens Club and was also an active volunteer with Community Teamwork Inc. of Lowell.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Richard A. Beauregard of Dracut and his companion, Marcia Emerson of Billerica; a daughter, Linda L. Tamvaklis and her husband, Emmanuel of Dracut; five grandchildren, Christina, Demitra, Anastacia, Joshua and Lauryn of Dracut; two brothers-in-law, Armand Tellier of WA and Richard Tellier and his wife, Patricia of Nashua, NH; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Claudette Beauregard.
