REAL A "RALPH" CORMIER
DRACUT- Real A. "Ralph" Cormier, 77, husband of Irene G. (Lussier) Cormier, a resident of this town, died Saturday, July 31 at a local nursing home following an extended illness.
Born in Lowell on Oct 15, 1926, he was a son of the late Adrien and Helene (Bedard) Cornier. He was an active communicant of Ste Therese Church where he was a member and past president of the Parish Men's Club. He also worked Bingo at the Parish.
Having retired in Feb., 1988, he was employed many years at Joan Fabrics of Lowell.
A WWII veteran, Ralph served in the Navy as a Seaman First Class in the Asiatic-Pacific area where he received four stars and the Philippine Liberation where he received two additional stars. He also received the World War II Victory Medal and the American Area Medal.
An avid golfer, he held memberships with the Pine Valley Golf Club and he was a 30 year member of the Whip-Poor-Will Golf Club in Hudson. He also held memberships in the Dracut Senior Citizens' Club and the Centralville Social Club.
Surviving him beside his wife are two daughters, Joanne A Cormier of Dracut and Suzanne A Cormier of Methuen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard F. and Mary Cormier of Townsend and Paul D. and Obe Cormier of Newton, NC; a sister, Sister Lucille Cormier,asv of Worcester; two granddaughters, Michelle and Christina Cormier of Townsend, also several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Fernand Cormier.
