LOWELL - Raymond G. Vaillancourt, age 74, a resident of Lowell died Friday, May 15, 2020 at his home following a long illness.

He was born in Lowell on May 21, 1945, and was a son of the late Rudolph and Irene (Leduc) Vaillancourt. He received his education in Lowell schools.

Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed for over 10 years as a security guard for MIT Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington.

Earlier in his career, he was employed for many years as a mason.

In his free time, Raymond enjoyed going to the casinos and playing cards.

He is survived by his son, Raymond G. Vaillancourt, Jr. and his wife Mary of Dracut; his daughter, Debra Vaillancourt of Dracut; two brothers, Rudolph Vaillancourt and his wife Elaine of ME and Roger Vaillancourt of AZ; his sister Dorothy Skaff of NH; his longtime girlfriend, Paula Thibodeau of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews.

It being his wish, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave, Waltham, MA 02451.
