Raymond P. Lowe… Korean War Navy Veteran

 

LOWELL - Raymond P. Lowe, 92, a long time resident of Lowell, Massachusetts and Navy veteran of the Korean War, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2023.  He is now reunited with his beloved late wife, Lorraine E. (Tellier) Lowe, to whom he was married for 65 years.

Born in Lowell on November 11, 1930, he was the son of the late George T. and Elizabeth M. (Whalen) Lowe. 

An active member of the Dracut Senior Center, Ray could be found playing many different card games including 45’s, Cribbage and Bingo. Ray also had a love for jigsaw puzzles.  After retirement from Raytheon where he worked for 38 years, Ray and Lorraine loved to travel.  For 18 years, he and Lorraine enjoyed spending their winters down in Plant City, Florida where they made many friends and enjoyed activities including Bingo and Pool. When he was home in Lowell, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

He is survived by seven children, Kathleen Landry and her husband Stephen, Michael Lowe and his wife Christine Pouliot-Lowe, Darlene Lowe, Roxanne Carpenito and her husband Philip, Thomas Lowe, Raymond Lowe and his wife Janet LaPorte and John Lowe and his wife Janice; 14 grandchildren, Christopher, Ashley, Rachael, Britni, Felicia, Gabrielle, Susie, Cole, Jessica, Alissa, Nathan, Brandon, Brody, and Jacob; 4 great-grandchildren; Cameron, Braydon, Olivia, and Charlotte; a sister, Lorraine Gaffny. 

Ray was predeceased by his siblings Helen, George, William “Bill”, Carl, Phyllis and Warren. 

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the Fairhaven Nursing Home, nurses and staff for their excellent care and support for Ray and family.
