Raymond Joseph (Ray) Laplante

Gilford, NH – Raymond Joseph Laplante (Ray), 78, born and raised in Lowell, died Sunday May 12, 2013 at Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, NH, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Rita (Duhamel) Laplante of Lowell with whom he shared 58 years of marriage as of this May 28th.
Born on December 29, 1934, he was the son of the late Pierre and Yvonne (Beland) Laplante. Raymond proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Laplante worked in the carpentry business for over fifty years, building his own family three homes. He was a former member of the Salem, NH Elks.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Richard A. Laplante of Hillsboro, NH, Rose Marie Laplante of Sacramento, CA, Ronald R. Laplante of Belfast, ME, Raymond D. Laplante and his wife Deborah (Duncan) Laplante of Derry, NH and Rachel J. Laplante of Gilford, NH. He is survived by sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and three brothers; Michael Laplante of Lawrence, MA, Ernest Laplante of Laconia, NH and Maurice Laplante of Pepperell, MA, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Donald and Robert Laplante.
