Raymond G. Goulet, 88, died peacefully in his home, surrounded by family, on Friday, March 15, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Lise G. (Berard) Goulet, with whom he would of shared 65 years of marriage with in September.
He was born in Saint-Prosper, Quebec, Canada on July 4, 1935 and was a son of the late Bernadette (Begin) and Donat Goulet. In his earlier days, Raymond worked as a lumberjack in Canada. He worked for the Carpenters Union for many years and retired from there, also he managed Omer’s Cafe in Lowell, Massachusetts.
In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his cabin in Canada. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, brother and sister-in-law. He had a love for animals and also for gardening.
In addition to his wife, Lise, Raymond is survived by his children, Doris McGee of Lowell, Sylvain Goulet of North Carolina, Marco Goulet of Lowell and Colette Whitney of Lowell; his nine grandchildren, Sarah and her husband Rob, Alan and his wife Amanda, Krista and her husband Eric, Jessica, Corey and his wife Jessica, Alicia and her wife Kaylan, Noelle and her partner Bradley, Andrew and Lacey; his five great-grandchildren, Juliana, Aiden, McKenzie, Nolan and Leah; his siblings, Fernard Goulet, Maurice Goulet, Claudette Levesque, Jeanne LaRochelle and Denise Roy; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Raymond was the brother of the late Theresa Goulet, Marcel Goulet, Julie Audet and Gaston Goulet and father-in-law of the late Thomas J. McGee.
Raymond’s family would like to thank the staff at Beacon Hospice for all their compassionate care.
Relatives and friends are invited to Raymond’s Life Celebration on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 4 until 7 PM at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME, 327 Hildreth Street, Lowell. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9 AM at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Parish, Dracut. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
