Raymond J. Genereux, a resident at Concord Health Care Center in Concord, died on Monday August 27, 2012. He was 89
A native of Lowell born on July 6, 1923, and originally a parishioner of the Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish, Ray was a veteran of World War II, promoted to Army Sgt., and honorably discharged after having served as a Medical /Surgical Technician. A graduate of Lowell Commercial College, he was employed in supervisory and management positions at Northeastern Home Improvement Co. in Lowell, the Harold Hahn Toy Co. in Woburn, and lastly at Wang Laboratories in Lowell, from which he retired.
In his active years, Ray enjoyed gardening, going to the beaches in NH, and taking trips with his second wife, Doris.
A resident of Dracut until recently, he was a communicant and Adoration volunteer at St. Francis Parish , and a member of the Dracut American Legion Post # 315.
The last of his generation, Raymond was the son of the late Eugene Genereux and Rosanna (Dupras) Genereux; he was predeceased by his brothers Roland, Victor, Andrew, Emery, and Paul, and his sisters Gracia (Sr. Helen du Sacre Coeur, SCO), Helene (Sr. Leonie, SCO), Irene, Theresa Perigny, and Claire.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth (Bonin) Genereux, and is survived by his step-daughters/nieces Pauline Murray of Billerica, Claire Bentley and spouse Carl of Lowell; Anne G. Marlowe and spouse Christopher of Yardley, Pa.; Denise Doucette and spouse Barry of Litchfield, NH.
His surviving grandchildren are: Suzanne Murray of Billerica, Robert Murray of Lynnfield, and Joshua Marlowe of Jersey City, NJ. He also has numerous nephews and nieces.
Raymond's great grandchildren are Rebecca Murray, of R.I., and Sean, Caitlin, Erin and Bridget Murray, of Lynnfield.
He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Doris (LeClair-Pelland), and is survived by her children Diane Beaudoin of Lowell; Paul of Tyngsboro; Richard of Pelham, NH; Michael of Baltimore, MD; and Rachel Leo of Tyngsboro; and several grandchildren.
