Lowell- Raymond F. Fortin, 82, a Lowell resident, died Sunday April 16, 2006 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Barbara E. (Hayes) Fortin. Mr. Fortin was born in Lowell on December 6, 1923, a son of the late Henry and Angelina (Deziel) Fortin. Mr. Fortin served with the United States Navy during WWII. Mr. Fortin enjoyed woodworking and making household items for his family.
Prior to his retirement, was employed by the Pellon Corporation of Lowell.
Surviving him besides his wife are four sons and one daughter in law, Alan Fortin of SC, Kevin Fortin of Lowell, Brian Fortin and his wife Sheila of Lowell and Gene Fortin of Lowell; six daughters and two sons in law, Patricia Fortin of Lowell, Renee Kelly and her husband John of Brookline, June Graham of Lowell, Rae Valdes and her husband Tony of Dracut, Denise Fortin of Tyngsboro and Lisa Fortin of Lowell; a sister Theresa O'Brien of Lowell; 13 grand children, 7 great grand children, several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Gary Fortin, Great grandfather of the late Andrea Kelly and brother of the late Robert, Alfred, Henry, Paul and Arthur Fortin, Jesse Desmarais, Rita Morris, Laura Robey, and father-in-law of the late Kevin Graham.
