DRACUT - Raymond V. "Rocky" Cleary, 82, a resident of Dracut for the last 10 years, died Tuesday evening, November 4, 2008, at the Lowell General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Doris A. (Bergeron) Cleary.
Born in Lowell on May 24, 1926, he was a son of the late Edward and Catherine (Barrett) Cleary.
Prior to retirement, Rocky had been employed by the Tewksbury State Hospital and he also drove the delivery truck for Wood Brothers Flowers for over 20 years.
A long time resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, he was a communicant of St. Michael Church.
For those who knew him, Rocky could always be seen with a group of his friends on lower Bridge Street congregating in front of the local businesses.
He is survived by a son and his family, Michael J. and Peg (Brophy) Cleary and their children, Meghan and Kate Cleary , all of Hinsdale, IL; a daughter and her family, Colleen A. and Daniel J. McHale and their children Kaleigh and Patrick McHale, all of Dracut; a brother and his wife, Frank and Lil Cleary of No. Chelmsford; sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Dot Cleary of Vero Beach, FL, Richard and Mari Sol Bergeron of Arlington and Lorraine Bergeron of Dracut; also several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jack Cleary, Kay Norkunas, Dorothy Dempsey and Edward Cleary.
