Raymond V. Caron

Raymond V. Caron, 93, lifelong resident of Lowell died Monday March 8. For nearly 54 Years, he was the husband of Estelle Y. (Beauchesne) Caron who died in 1994.
Born in Lowell on September 28, 1910, he was a son of the late Louis and Marie (Dube) Caron. Having lost his parents while he was very young, he was raised in Pawtucketville by the late Napoleon and Zenaide Noel.
He was a longtime communicant of Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Church until he moved to Centralville where he was a faithful communicant of St. Louis de France Church for over 50 years.
Mr. Caron was a millwright for many years in several of Lowell's historic textile mills, and he worked for over twenty years at the General Electric Wire and Cableplant in Lowell before his retirement. During WWII, Mr. Caronworked as a welder building submarines at the Portsmouth Navy Yard.
Mr. Caron was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting, travelling and building extremely detailed birdhouses. He was a long time member of the Pawtucketville Social Club, and a lifelong Republican.
Survivng him are two of his three children, Paul R. Caron and his wife Carol (Cashman) of Lowell, and Joanne Richard and her husband Andre of Lowell, a daughter in law Dianna (Phelps), a brother Maurice and his wife Evelyn of Boca Raton, FL, a brother in law, Raymond Beauchesne and his wife Rita of Floral Park, NY, two sisters in law, Lillian Beauchesne of Dracut, and Rita Beauchesne of Tyngsboro, seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, twenty four nieces and nephews and counless other relatives and friends.
Raymond was the father of the late Robert L. Caron, a well known plumber and local sportsman who died in 1996. He was the brother of the late Thomas Caron and his wife Hazel, Louis Caron and his wife Eva, Leo Caron and his wife Elizabeth and Yvonne Rivest and her husband Clarence. He was the brother in law of the late Albert and Blanche Beauchesne, Henri and Frances Beauchesne, Raymond and Claire Descheneaux, Edward and Jeanette Desroches, Rodolph Pete Beauchesne, Marcel Beauchesne, and Lionel Beauchesne.
