Raymond Thomas Boyle

LOWELL - Raymond T. Boyle, 94, of Lowell died on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. He was the beloved husband of the late Florence M. (Foy) Boyle, who died in 2000 and his current wife of 20 years, M. Alice Rodger of Lowell.

He was born in Lowell on September 12, 1926 and was the son of the late Frederick and Marion (Renaud) Boyle.

After graduating high school, Raymond proudly went on to serve his country in the United States Navy. Upon his return, he attended Boston College, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics.

Prior to retirement, he worked as a software engineer for the RCA Corporation, now General Electric, for over 30 years.

Raymond was an avid bridge player, loved Irish music and enjoyed taking yearly trips to Florida during the winter months. In the warmer months, he could often be found puttering around his house doing yard work.

His greatest joy however, was spending time with his family and will forever be remembered as a family man.

Raymond is survived by his four children, Kevin Boyle and his wife Joyce of Hampton, NH, Deborah Boyle of Kingston, NH, Steven Boyle and his wife Anita of North Carolina and Douglas Boyle and his wife Noreen of Billerica; his five grandchildren, Patrick, Alicia, Jesse, Kylie and Shayla; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by Alice's four children, Jean Shufelt and her husband John, Kathy Rodger, Robert Rodger and his wife Claire and James Rodger. He also was much loved by Alice's eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Raymond is predeceased by his three sisters.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, funeral services were held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Raymond's memory to Immaculate Conception Church, 144 East Merrimack Street, Lowell, MA 01852.
