OBITUARY
LOWELL - Raymond P. Barrett Sr., 69, a resident of the Christian Hill neighborhood in the Centralville section of Lowell, died Saturday, June 24, 2006 at his home. He was the husband of Elaine F. (Craib) Barrett with whom he was married for 45 years.
Born in Lowell on October 25, 1936, he was a son of the late Francis and Rose (Stewart) Barrett.
Mr. Barrett was a graduate of Lowell High School and served with the United States Navy Reserves in the 1950's.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by B.A.E. Systems in Hudson, NH.
A communicant of St. Michael Church, he was a former president of the St. Michael Baseball League. He also coached the Acre Team for the Lowell Junior Football League.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid Red Sox Fan, Patriot's Fan and Yankee hater.
In addition to his wife he is survived by eight sons, Raymond P. Barrett Jr. and his wife Paula (Baker) of Dracut, Jeffrey Barrett of Lowell, Daniel Barrett and his companion Mary Courtney of Dracut, Dennis Barrett of Lowell, Kenneth Barrett and his fianc�e Sharon Sylvester of Dracut, Phillip Barrett and his wife Maria (Mambro) of Methuen Scott Barrett of Lowell and Christopher Barrett and his wife Robyn (Brunelle) of Lowell; his daughter, Jennifer Barrett of Lowell; two brothers, William Barrett of North Chelmsford and Robert Barrett and his wife Ann (Flynn) of Lowell; a sister, Rosemarie Boutilier and her husband Robert of Dracut; three daughters-in-law, Linda Barrett of TX, Wendy Barrett of Dracut and Phyllis Barrett of Lowell; 15 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Keith Barrett and brother of the late Francis Barrett and Bernadette Sweeney.
