UMASS Lowell retiree; 73
DRACUT - Ralph F. DiRocco, 73, a Dracut resident, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at his residence.
Born in Lowell on June 12, 1949, he was a son of the late Stella M. (Mooney) DiRocco. Ralph devoted himself to his mother.
Ralph attended Dracut Schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School.
Prior to his retirement following 38 years of dedicated service, he worked in the maintenance department at UMASS Lowell.
Ralph enjoyed playing cribbage, and in his younger years, softball. He loved watching all of the New England Sports teams, especially the Red Sox.
He leaves two brothers and their spouses, Leo and Bonnie DiRocco of Tewksbury and Norman and Carol DiRocco of Lowell, nephews and nieces, Todd DiRocco, Paula Dumont, Amy Crosby and her husband Joe, his Godchild, Carrie Sousa and Keith DiRocco; also 9 great nephews and great nieces. He also leaves his cousin, Joe DiRocco, and his close friends, Bob Richardson, Frank Scanlon and Tony Koumantzelis. He was predeceased by family members Michael Dumont and John Sousa.
Relatives and friends are invited to Ralph’s visitation on Thursday morning, May 11, from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth Street. Funeral Services will follow in the funeral home at 12:30 PM. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Hudson, NH.
