Ralph Charles Chaput, 80, a resident of Hudson, NH, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. He was the husband of the late Patricia M. (Powers) Chaput.
Born in Lowell, MA on July 1, 1925, he was a son of the late Jeremy and Laura (Coulombe) Chaput.
Mr. Chaput was a graduate of St. Louis Parochial School of Lowell, class of 1940, Keith Academy of Lowell, class of 1944 and Northeastern University, class of 1953. He was a member of the Century Club at Northeastern University.
He was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Marines in the Pacific Theater of Operations participating against enemy air offenses. He was wounded on Okinawa in 1945 and hospitalized for 15 months and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. He was a member of the DAV Boston Post, 89 and The American Legion, Post 200, Manchester, NH.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Dyer Technology, Inc. of Hudson, NH as the Accounting and Financial Manager.
He is survived by four sons, Paul C. Chaput of Manchester, NH, Peter J. Chaput and his wife Donna of Wilton, NH, Timothy R. Chaput and his wife Doreen of Auburn, NH and Thomas R. Chaput and his wife Carla of Albuquerque, NM; three daughters, Nancy Skwira and her husband Edward of Southampton, MA, Laurie Deppe of Hudson, NH and Pattie Kennedy of Manchester, NH; two brothers, Howard Chaput and his companion Priscilla Nutter of Dracut, MA and Rudolph Chaput of Lowell, MA; a sister, Pauline Leigh of Lowell, MA; a sister in law Jane Chaput; 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Walter "Chappy" Chaput.
